I recommend buying the print version to be able to use the checklists and other exercises.
Designing Your Life: How to Build a Well-Lived, Joyful Life by Bill Burnett and Dave Evans
This is by far my favorite book for self coaching. The first thing that Burnett and Evans do is acknowledge that very few of us know exactly what we want to do out of school and that is OK. They propose that instead we think of our life the way that designers think…that it is all about iteration, adjustment, and more iteration. They have a ton of great exercises for you to think through when looking at your life, whether it be career or some other aspect to help elicit discovery. Although this is a great self-coaching tool, if you do with a friend or acquaintance to help hold you accountable and bounce ideas of, you can really maximize the potential of this book.
